Conservatism

Wee, I'm finally back to playing poker. Just off a session from 4-5 freezouts and about half a dozen SNGs. I'm going to try and play and final table some micro tourneys for now, seeing as my BR is so low and freezeouts are so easy to money in.

I'm going to be working on my play. I'm reading Harrington on Hold'em, and man, I'm beginning to realize more and more how bad I suck postflop. Maybe it's not that I suck - I usually know the right move. I am just hyper-aggressive like you wouldn't believe. It's like: "What? You're gonna fucking call my contbet when I have complete air? What? Fuck you, allin on turn." I bet I win half my pots postflop with the worst holding. It's really bad the way it's going though. I read a guy prefectly for jacks and was hoping I could get him to lay it down, but no such luck. So right now, I'm trying to go into Action Dan Mode. I won't contbet in SNGs with 2+ opponents OOP with nothing. I'll still have to go in with TPTK and lose to sets and twopair and things like that, because the people at 6.50s are total donks, and my BR is still at like 200, but I'll try to be a lot more conservative postflop and allow myself to check/fold when contbetting would mean putting myself allin.

That's another thing I have to stop doing. Contbetting then folding when I've put in 3/4 of my stack. I used to do that before I took a break. I'd be being the maniac at the table, then I'd lose three quarters of my stack (after being the bigstack), then I'd win three allins with runner runner trips or straights or flushes to come back and win the tourney. Man, I thought I was the shit.

One last thing I have to mention about my hyper-aggressivism. I need to stop bluffing allin when I miss my draws. I check/call my flush draw with 8-1 pot odds on the flop, then check/call again on turn with the same odds. Then, if I miss my flush: all-in. Can I play any dumber?
